Corporate Overview Nam Fatt started in 1966 as a small engineering and construction outfit known as Nam Fatt Engineering (SEA) Sdn Bhd. The steady progress that took place in the years that followed secured its position as one of Malaysia’s earliest successful engineering and construction pioneers. Nam Fatt’s determination to advance ahead in the field came to fruition in 1990 when it debuted on the main board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia). The company was now poised for immense growth. Nam Fatt has grown from strength to strength over the years, emerging as a top industry player in Malaysia and elsewhere in the world. In 1996, the company adopted its present name – Nam Fatt Corporation Berhad – to reflect its phenomenal growth. Today, Nam Fatt is a multinational group with over 1,000 employees in 31 subsidiaries and four associated companies. In acknowledgement of its achievements, the company has been awarded numerous domestic and international accreditations and awards, including the Export Excellence Service Award (for Construction) by the Malaysian government and the internationally recognised ISO 9000:2001 by SGS Yarsley (for Fabrication and Construction of Structural Steel). The last decade saw the consolidation and streamlining of Nam Fatt’s core businesses into two distinct strategic business units, the Engineering & Construction and the Property & Leisure Divisions. From its humble beginnings in 1966, Nam Fatt has progressed exponentially beyond Malaysian shores to Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, Turkmenistan, Sudan and the Middle East in our endeavour to be an outstanding global player.
